After breakfast in your hotel, you will have the opportunity to explore more of the town. Our Morocco tour will continue across the Rif Mountains to the well-known archeological site of Volubilis. We will stop at the site for an hour, and you will walk with a local guide to discover the unique Roman ruin that is steeped in Berber and Roman history. After Volubilis, we will take a half-hour drive to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Before driving to our hotel in Fes, we will visit the city’s famous sites, such as Bab Mansour Gate, the Moulay Ismail Museum, Gera Person, and the famous Sahrij Sawani water reservoir. Fes at night

Day 3: Fes Medina guided tour

By the morning, you will be surprised at how amazing the Medina of Fes is. It is known as the biggest Medina in Morocco and the oldest, famous not only for its fascinating architecture in Riads, palaces, museums, and Medersas but also for its busy souks and crafts areas. Your driver and local guide will take you on a full-day tour of the city’s highlights.

The guided tour of Fes Medina will begin at your Riad, where your driver and guide will meet you. The day tour will begin with a visit to the king’s palace gate, the Jewish Mellah carter, and Fez’s largest mosaic factory. The following part of your Fes tour will be a walking tour with your guide to experience the charm of the Medina, with its colorful streets, while also learning about other historical sites such as the University of Al Qarouiyine, the Bab Boujeloud Gate, the mid-14th-century Bonania Medersas, and the Tanneries. After our memorable Fes guided tours, your driver will return you to your Hotel or Riad.

We will pick you up from your Riad or hotel and drive you south through the Middle Atlas mountains to Ifrane and Azrou. We will stop in the cedar forests along the way to see the Barbary Apes in their natural habitat. Later, we travel to Midelt via the Tizi N-Talghamt pass and the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. As you approach Errachidia, you will see views of the Middle Atlas plateau and the scenery will change to reveal hints of the desert.

After lunch, we will continue our day trip from Fes through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in the Merzouga desert.
