Day trip from Marrakech to Agafay Desert
Do you want to go somewhere for the day from Marrakech? to get away from Marrakech’s bustle or simply to take in the scenery of the rocky desert and the breathtaking Atlas Mountains? The goal of the day trip from Marrakech to Agafay is to experience both the Atlas Mountains and the distinctive landscape of the Moroccan desert. Agafay travels to Marrakech’s countryside, where you can engage in a variety of activities or simply take in the scenery and a delectable meal before returning to Marrakech.
A day trip to the Agafay desert will take you outside of the typical Morocco tours and allow you to go camel riding and parachute over Marrakech. Alternatively, there are opportunities for quad biking in Lalla Takerkoust.
Details for the Marrakech to Agafay desert excursion:
Our journey to the Agafay desert begins at your hotel or Riad. You will be picked up at 9 a.m. and you will be driven through olive groves. In addition, we will visit outlying villages in this remote, rocky desert, where you can take in the surrounding dry landscape and climb to the top of one of these hills for a better view. The chain of the Atlas Mountains is visible during the winter when it is completely covered in snow.
The Agafay desert offers incredible paths to ride and enjoy the challenge of this amazing sport. If you enjoy this kind of adventure, consider participating in the optional 30-minute quad-biking activity.
Either a luxurious Agafay camp or a nomad camp will be used to serve lunch.
Before we drive you back to Marrakech in the late afternoon, we invite you to go camel riding or paragliding in Takerkoust Lake.
