Program of the Desert Tour from Agadir to Fes via Merzouga
Day 1: Agadir – Essaouira – Marrakech
We will meet you at the airport or at your hotel then we start our desert tour from Agadir. Our first destination will be the old colony of Portuguese ‘Essaouira’, also called Mogador. We will explore this gorgeous small city by visiting the Kasbah, Mellah (Jewish Quarter), walk over its beautiful beach, and buy fresh fish for lunch. Then, take a journey at Mogador, the UNESCO Heritage before you leave for Marrakech. Later, we arrive at Marrakech. We first explore the famous Koutoubia Mosque, Menara Gardens, Majorelle Garden, and we spend the evening at Jamaa el-Fna. Diner and night at a traditional Riad in the center of the city.

Day 2: Marrakech – Tizi N’Ticheka Pass – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate- Dades valley
Today, we wake up early to continue our city tour of Marrakech by visiting the old Mellah, Bahya Palace, and shop in the Souk (Marrakech Market). Then, we travel through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Ticheka Pass (altitude 2260 m.). We pause to take in the breathtaking views of the valley and visit local Berber villages. We visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou in the afternoon and have lunch nearby. We travel to Ouarzazate, then to Dades Valley, passing through the well-known Valley of the Roses, which blooms in April and May. We stay in a traditional hotel and eat at a traditional restaurant.

Day 3: Dades valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga desert
After breakfast, you can take a stroll through the Dades Valley before continuing to the Todra Gorges, one of the most beautiful and impressive canyons in the area. It is also a popular destination for serious climbers in Morocco. On our way to Merzouga from Todra Gorges, we pass through palm groves and oases. We drive through Erfoud, Morocco’s fossil capital, and on to Erg Chebbi, the sand sea. We go on a 2-hour camel ride and watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. We sleep in traditional Berber tents in the desert.

Day 4: Golden Dunes Tour and enjoying Erg Chebbi
We will spend the day exploring the nomads, lakes, wells, and wildlife of Erg Chebbi. We stop in Khamlia, known as the Black Village, for a cup of tea and listen to their spiritual Gnawa music. Lunch will be served in a hotel or as a picnic in the shade of Tamarix trees. In the afternoon, you can relax and enjoy the camp while listening to musicians play traditional music and watching the sunset and stars rise.

Day 5: Merzouga – Middle Atlas towns and village – Fes
You can get up early to watch the sunrise and have a leisurely breakfast in your luxury camp before we depart for Fes. We travel to Fez through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the beautiful Ziz Valley, Medilt, and Azrou. Even though it will be a long driving day, we will be treated to an amazing landscape of the Atlas Mountains while taking photo breaks along the way. We arrive in Fes in the late afternoon.

Day 6: FES – Fes guided tour
You begin a day tour in Fez with a local guide, where time stands still in the old medina. Fes is an exquisitely preserved medieval city with donkey-wide alleyways and souks. The famous palace gate, the Mosaic factory, La Madrasa Attarine, the Najjarine Fountain, and the mosques of El Qaraouine, Madrasa Bonania, and Tanneries will all be visited during your guided tour. You prefer that we drop you off in your authentic Riad after the visit, which can end at any time.
