Program of the 8-Day Desert Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat

Pick up at Casablanca airport and begin driving to the city, passing through views of the Moroccan countryside. We make a brief stop to see Hassan II’s largest Mosque in Africa, the only one open to non-Muslims. For the first night, we will travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city.

Day 2: Rabat – Chefchaouen

Our second day of this desert tour from Casablanca begins with a delicious breakfast in the Riad, followed by a tour of the beautiful Mausoleum of Mohammed V, which is decorated with stained glass windows and white marble. We proceed to Hassan Tower, which is located on a hill overlooking the Wadi Bou Regreg. Continue to the Oudaya Kasbah, which was built to protect the city by Moulay Ismael between 1672 and 1727 and is surrounded by Almohad ramparts. The journey continues to Chefchaouen, which is famous for its vivid blue-rinsed houses and is popular with both tourists and Moroccans, especially during the hot summer months. Explore the winding lanes and narrow alleys filled with souks selling cuisine and artisanal works. Chefchaouen is where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Fes

After breakfast in our Riad, we depart for Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities. We pass through many beautiful landscapes and amazing views on our way to the city, where we will stop for lunch. Then you begin to explore the most beautiful sites in the city with a local guide, such as the Qaraouine mosque, leather tanneries, and the medina, which has beautiful souks, as well as the Moroccan art museum. We will spend the night in a Riad.

Day 4:  FES – Volubilis – Meknes

Begin our day by driving to the Volubilis (Walili) archaeological site. Begin your exploration of the fascinating Roman ruins, which are adorned with beautiful mosaics and colorful tiles depicting Roman mythology. Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most beautiful site in the region.

We continue to Meknes, which Sultan Moulay Ismail chose as his capital at the end of the 17th century. The city had 20 gates, more than 50 palaces, and a 15-mile-long wall surrounding it. We visit some of the city’s highlights, including Bab Mansour Gate, Place Lhdim (the Ruins Square), and Bonania Medersas (the Koranic School). In Meknes, stay in a hotel or a Riad.

Day 5: Meknes – Sahara Desert – Merzouga

We begin our desert tour from the Riad early in the morning, passing near the national park of Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.” A break will be taken to enjoy its beauty and take memorable photos. Continue on your journey to Azrou to see the Barbary ape monkeys in the cedar forest. Continuing to Midelt for a restaurant lunch

By the afternoon, we will cross Tizi N Talghamt Pass to Errachidia, admiring the views of the Ziz Gorges, which provide excellent photographic opportunities. We will stop later for a panoramic view of Ziz Valley. The journey continues to Erg Chebbi Dunes, passing through Aoufous and Erfoud, the fossil capital. Then we will head to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi. Arrive at the hotel and prepare for an hour-and-a-half camel ride to enjoy the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in a luxury camp

Day 6: Merzouga – Todra gorges – Dades Valley

If you get up early enough, you can see an amazing sunrise in Morocco from the Sahara desert. After that, you will peacefully ride the camel’s back to the dunes’ edge, admiring the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes at first light. We will depart for the Todra Gorges, which are well known as an important destination for rock climbers and are Morocco’s highest and narrowest gorges. We can go for a walk before driving to Dades Valley for dinner and lodging.

Day 7:  Dades Valley – Ait ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech

We begin our day with a quick visit to the Dades Gorges, which feature the various rock forms of the mountains in the valley of Dades. We continue on the road of a thousand Kasbahs until we arrive at the Valley of the Roses. When the roses bloom in April and May, the Valley is breathtaking. We pass through Ouarzazate before arriving at Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, the most restored ksar in the south and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ait Ben Haddou site will be visited on foot for 45 minutes. We pause for lunch on one of the terraces.

We continue to Marrakech, passing through the High Atlas mountain range via the Tizi N Ticheka pass (2260 m), with stunning views of small valleys and Berber villages. Arriving in Marrakech late in the afternoon and spending the night in a Riad

Day 8: Guided tour in Marrakech

A full-day sightseeing tour of Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most beautiful cities founded at the end of the 12th century by the Almoravid dynasty, is always appealing for its unique history and culture. Our guide will take you to the city’s most notable landmarks, including the Saadian Tombs, Menara, and Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia mosque with its minaret, Bahia Palace, the Souks, and Jemaa El Fna Square. The evening is free for various activities in the square. The Riad at Night. End of your Desert Tour from Casablanca.
